At Grissini, we have created a modern-day Roma where you can transport to Italy: choose your favorite pasta and select from a tempting variety of alluring homemade sauces for your own personal indulgence! Using fresh seasonal ingredients and authentic Italian recipes, we wish to captivate our customers with our signature style.

Meet Giuseppe

Giuseppe Bellisario

Giuseppe Bellisario was born in the picturesque seaside town of Gallipoli, in the southeastern Puglia region of Italy. At a young age Giuseppe ventured out of his hometown living and working in Northern Italy and France. His sense of adventure lead him to travel the world, working on cruise ships for over nine years. On one of his voyages he met a stunning blonde California girl and in 1969 Giuseppe settled in Los Angeles when he married his beautiful wife Barbara.

Giuseppe’s illustrious restaurant career began at the famous Los Angeles institutions- The Hotel Bel Air and Scandia Restaurant, where he started and then became the General Manager. Then in 1979, Giuseppe opened his first restaurant “Giuseppe’s” on Beverly and Sweetzer in West Los Angeles. “Giuseppe’s,” was a fine dining establishment with a very high class and celebrity clientele. “Giuseppe’s” was the “it” restaurant known for its’ superb level of service and excellent food quality and innovative menu. “Giuseppe’s” was one of Elmer Dill’s favorite restaurants and as a consequence Giuseppe was a frequent guest on his TV show. In addition, Giuseppe was featured as a special guest chef on Good Morning LA with Steve Edwards and Christina Ferrari. He was also a frequent guest speaker on the Paul Wallach’s famous radio food show, and made frequent appearances in Larry Lipson’s Daily News restaurant column. “Giuseppe’s” was a featured restaurant in Zagat’s Guide and various other prestigious restaurant review books.

From there Giuseppe then opened several other restaurants including Baci on Beverly, Baci on Pico, and Cafe Giuseppe in Northridge. Then in 1998, Giuseppe opened Capriccio Restaurant on Ventura Boulevard in Encino, it was know as the “Best Italian Food in the Valley.”
